OCS 2007 R2 Services fail to start RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,
I am building a lab for design and validation prior to begining a deployment of OCS R2 and am having no end of problems.

What is occuring is that the installation goes through fine and when i get to activating services it just dies.

I have gone through this site and many others looking for solutions however am unable to locate a solution

I have tried the recommendations in these threads however to no avail.

    and
    http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/communicationsserversetup/thread/feb2d1fe-498f-49db-bc0f-231717e77315/

    My lab has:

    AD1 - domain(internal.dns)
    AD2 - CA
    ISA01 - Not in use
    EDG01 - Not in use
    EDG02 - Not in use
    OCS01 - pool (ocs.internal.dns)
    OCS02 - pool (ocs.internal.dns)
    EXCH01 - Not in use
    EXCH02 - Not in use

I have configured the cert's as OCS.INTERNAL.DNS and added to servers

I have check NIC settings are OK

    Confirmed all connectivity

    Checked User/Pass are correct

    Changed Service accounts

Nothing seems to get this online.

    Any ideas?

    Jammy

  • Seems to have resolved itself.

    Things changed
    - recreated DNS records as CNAME's not hosts....
    - unprep'd everything...
    - reinstalled
    - New poolname.
    - created via cmd line.

  • Are all services failing or just one?

Im pretty sure this service failed to start due to me not deploying this feature ServiceName: RtcQmsAgent "Office Communications Server Monitoring Agent"

I Only use OCS for LiveMeeting and Internal IM, so this service is not needed, for my setup anyway...

Yes all services are failing :-(

I have tried deploying all services but to the same effect.

Am going to work through it again today with fresh eyes.
