Windows Live ID Verification problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am not getting alerts eMailed to me.  When I go to "Your Alerts" and "Edit Delivery", I get:

"Windows Live ID Verification: Your e-mail address cannot be verified at this time. Please try again later. If you continue having problems, please check your e-mail inbox for a message from Windows Live ID"

And, I get nothing in my inbox.  I really need my alerts.  How do I get past this?

    Many thanks, -T

    Here is my work around.

    1) I logged into

    http://www..passport.net

    and got redirected to

    https://accountservices.passport.net/ppnetworkhome.srf?vv=800&mkt=EN-US&lc=1033

    2) Towards the bottom of the page, I clicked on Sign in to Account Services:

    https://accountservices.passport.net/?mkt=EN-US&lc=1033&id=10

    3) This placed me into my "Account Overview".  A the top of my overveiw, there was a link to "Validate your e-mail address"

This time it gave me a form to fill out.  And, it indeed sent me an eMail requesting I go to a link to validate.  And it "said" it worked.

I will know for sure next time some responds to me.

p.s. just a general observation.  This forum has the most knowledgeable, helpful folks on it I have ever come across.  On the other hand, the forum's software really stinks.  Best and the worst.  Really good examples of forum software can be found at CentOS.org, VirtualBox.org, OpenOffice.org.  They all work really well.  I can even do easy inline quote responses and inline code.  And, no problems getting your alerts.  Growing pains I guess.  Maybe next year this forum's software will improve.  I will suffer with the worst to get the best.

    Hi Bear,

I do not have a hotmail account.  I want my alerts to go to my gmail account.  I can not figure out how to get to somewhere that will allow me to do or correct such.

  • On http://alerts.live.com/Alerts/UserUpdate.aspx?rdr=2, I get:

" Your account needs to be updated with recent information from Windows Live ID for the following reasons:

             * You have changed your e-mail address from [redacted]%gmail.com@passport.com to [redacted]@gmail.com.               Your new Windows Live ID e-mail address must be verified before it can be used to receive alerts. "Validate your new e-mail address [http://alerts.live.com/Alerts/RevalidateEmail.aspx?fromUpdate=1]". To receive alerts on your computer or mobile device instead of receiving them in e-mail, click Continue. On the page that appears, click Edit Delivery next to a provider name."

When I go to the RevalidateEmail link, I get:

"Windows Live ID Verification.   Your e-mail address cannot be verified at this time. Please try again later. If you continue having problems, please check your e-mail inbox for a message from Windows Live ID "

So I am stuck in an endless loop.  And I get no message.  :'(

  • I can't find any of those links

Thread is from 9 years ago so the links have likely expired. I'd start a new thread for any current issues.
