My COA won't work! WHY?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There!

I have to update my 2003 MS Office and for some reason it won't accept my certficate of authenticity code.

I've tried both the office and the windows product keys, plus used this popular free utility:  http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml,

Which gave me the key I've already had. I was impressed, but nothing further.

    I also easily validated it.

Please help me - how can I get any authorized MS employee to sort this out?

    All my documents are locked

  • Hi PT_Ben,

It's hard to say what is happening without having more information.  Are you having issues with activating Office, or is this an issue with the validation process?

One thing that you can do is run our diagnostic tool.  It will give us some data that we can look at that may help us determine the root cause of the problem.

    1)      Logon to the PC that is experiencing the notifications as a user with ADMIN rights.

    2)      Download the tool:   http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 click RUN.

    3)      When the tool loads, click CONTINUE.

    4)      Is the RESOLVE button available?  If so, please click RESOLVE to allow the diagnostic tool to repair the issue.

    5)      From the Windows tab, click the COPY button.

    6)      Reply back to this post and PASTE the results

    Thanks,

    Michelle
