  • You can define an Enterprise Custom Field, and make this mandatory for a project, resource or task.  If this is mandatory and applicable for a single project, then you may wish to review the Department functionality in order to implement this.

  • As such their is no default functionality available in Project Server where you can restrict the required field to specific project file because attribute defined in enterprise level not for individual file.

You can create the required field but you can provide one more option in lookup value as "NA", where people will use NA value if it not applicable to specific project

  • The answer is yes if you mean a project file type. Providing that you create an Enterprise Project Type for it that uses a workflow, you can specify enterprise custom fields controlled by workflow and then surface them only in the EPTs you want to use them.

Other than that possibility, the other answers are also correct. Please mark which one best satifies your requirement so that we can close the thread.
