AntiVirus For WHS

Question
-
Where can I find now current definitive reviews of all AntiVirus software for WHS? All of these forums, etc. have reported numerous historical problems with just about everything that is supposed to run on WHS. We need to repository of current facts. Also, would a more complete Internet Security package be of any use running on WHS if it is indeed accessed by family and friends remotely?

You can find some up-to-date information on www.wegotserved.com, but I'm not aware of a list of current review.
Never, ever install a security suite on your WHS! These products most often have an additional firewall which blocks all WHS specific ports after install. Almost always a server restore is the only way to get acces back.

I have been using Avast WHS edition for about 8 months now. I love how it integrates into WHS for local scanning and allows managing the networked machines. This is not free though. However, I purchased the WHS version for that server but I am using the free Avast Home Edition on all my computers. The WHS management still can manage the free versions too.Wednesday, October 14, 2009 2:37 PM

I would strongly agree with Avast. I have been using the WHS version of Avast for 18 months and LOVE it.Friday, December 4, 2009 10:16 PM

I've been using Avast free for a about 18 months and have had no problems with it. About 3 months ago I put our Home server online and installed Avast WHS & Pro and have had absolutely no problems with it.
