How to debug Javascript Webresources in CRM 2013 using IE 10? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

    I am currently unsure how to debug a javascript webresource linked to an entity form using IE10 within CRM 2013. I know that under the IE10 debugger, the form scripts are placed under 'Dynamic Scripts' but when I set a breakpoint and refresh the page, it is cleared.

    How can I debug my form linked javascripts?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Hello Jon,

    I use following approach:

    1.  Enabling of JavaScript debugging in your IE.

    2. Putting debugger; directive to place where you want to put a breakpoint like:

    function DoSomething(){
    //Your code behind

    3. Opening your CRM form.

    4. Activation of IE Developer Tools through f12.

    5. Refresh form and your breakpoint will be hit.

  • Hi,

    The below link is applicable for CRM 2011 with Rollup 15 or higher. This will also be helpful in CRM 2013 for debugging.

    Debug in IE 10

    Moreover, refer this link for step by step Debugging Scripts in the Developer Tool

    The link here talks about both the methods for Debugging for JavaScript which includes Developer tools as well as via Visual Studio.

    I hope this will help to resolve your issue.
