  • Ok, after calling MS support (1-800-642-7676 then transferred to 1-866-530-6364), it seems the Microsoft Store servers are having issues. They had to reissue new codes for my copies.

  • This was very helpful information. I hope if I wait longer than 40 minutes on the phone I will get through to somebody.

  • To all those people that have this problem, I have figure out the solution after 3 days.

Step 1: copy down the 25 character product ID that is found on your windows CD or the windows sticker on your computer.

Step 2: Go to Control Panel -> System and Security -> system

Step 3: On the very bottom of the page, there is a "Change the product key" link, click on it and enter your 25 character product key

    Step 4: End of frustration

MS wanted everyone to re-activate their windows to prevent piracy.

MS should told us that when we installed SP1.
