  • Hi Quilnux,

Many people are excited about this feature, but I'm afraid that we are not yet ready to reveal a timeframe.  Sorry.

One more vote for early release of Windows Mobile compatiblity. I just got a Moto Q 9c with WM 6, and it is a wonder. Very satisfying to hold and use. Now if I can just access all the digital media in my Live Mesh folders from it...

  • Hey Nicholas,

If I may ask, I have been interested in the Moto Q for my next purchase but when I looked at it from a Verizon Wireless store I noticed that the interface was a bit different. I was concerned about application installation. Can applications be installed on it and if so does it work OTA or through a USB cable?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Phillip,

No idea abouat installing apps; it may be that the specific carrier has something to say about it. On the other hand, it seems like a typical Windows Mobile environment. Be sure to get the Moto Q 9c, not the older Windows Mobile 5 version that is being offered for free or close to free. I'm on Sprint. Each carrier has an extensive developer Website that would be able to give you a more informative answer.

Great phone, and let's hope the MOE dev team will release some bits shortly.

Here's an engadget overivew of the situation:

  • Can someone from the Live Mesh team please give us an update on Windows Mobile support? Getting a working WM client will make this the killer application for me.

    Thanks, Neil

  • Yes, guys please release that thing. I love Mesh right now. But the mobile client is what i'm really waiting for. Mesh is just a Tech Preview but it is great right now...so please give us the mobile client!

  • Hi Neil,

I'm afraid we're still not quite ready to commit to a timeframe for releasing a Windows Mobile client, but support for mobile devices is one of our most popular requests and we're certainly working hard to get it ready!

I'm sorry I'm not able to say more,

    Ben.

  • Are you able to comment on a BB client in the works?  To help counteract my status as a BB user, my wife has a Windows Media phone which I'll be HAPPY to config using her Mesh account when released.  I can't wait to sync her WM Photos via WiFi to the MediaCenter running Mesh, which publishes out to the XBox and Extender for viewing.  I already zapped her first WM phone and lost a bunch of photos.
