Why is having an EE pool as Director better than having an array of SE servers? RRS feed

  • General discussion

Using a EE pool of Directors will give you different behavior than an array of Standard Edition servers.  The EE pool will have faster failover capabilities that don't necessarily require re-establishing the SIP dialog.  The SE array cannot do that as easily because there is no shared state between the members of the array. That being said, this doesn't mean the client needs necessarily to sign-out and sign-in.  This should happen automatically and you should see this fix itself within 10 minutes or so with the caveat that existing SIP dialogs will be lost and need to be re-created.
