trying to setup 2 legal circles RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have 4 laptops and a desktop. Two of the laptops and the desktop are setup on one circle. It works just fine. The renewal will take place very soon. I anticipate no issues.

I bought a second license for 1 of the laptops that happens to be my wife's. It is working just fine as a standalone machine.

We just added the 4th laptop and I want to add it to the second license in another circle based upon my wifes license. I cannot find the original information that I gave my wife for safekeeping since the second license is on her laptop. The instructions to add this to the circle says to open the product and go to a link that is not on the page displayed.

    1) Does this mean I have to reload Windows Live One Care on the machine with the second license and set it up as the hub in the initial install?

    2) If so, no big deal, but how can I retrieve the information needed to do this with the original license information? I need the id used and the password.

How about a telephone number to a person that can answer these questions?

  • On your wife's PC, open OneCare and click Help/About OneCare in the upper right corner of the interface.

You will see the Subscription ID in the middle of the dialog. That is the LiveID to use for activation on the second PC for that Circle. If you don't recall the password for that LiveID, you will need to have the password reset at http://account.live.com - assuming that you know the secret question answers and/or have configured an alternate email address that you have access to when that LiveID was configured.
