  • Question

  • i have installed outlook 2007 and am not able to get the icons to show for live meeting in my outlook.  also, when i am in a meeting and try to invite someone via email, i get an error to check my email settings.  i have tried removing live meeting altogether, rebooting. reinstalling....has anyone else had this issue?  I am running OCS 2007. winxp sp2.

  • Hi,

You need to install the livemeeting 2007 client (which is different than the outlook LiveMeeting plugin). You can find it here:

    http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/F/7/4F712B94-C6A5-4A66-AD8F-53E04085B939/LMSetup.exe

Note that this is also different than the LM 2005 client

To get the outlook icons etc. to work, you need to install the lmaddin pack. However, to the best of my knowledge, there isn't an lmaddinpack.msi available for the RTM version of OCS 2007 yet. There was one available with the public beta, but I don't know if that will work properly with the RTM code.

  • No prob. Good news! The LM 2007 plugin is now available here:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA102368901033.aspx

I've tested it out and it works just fine.

Note, however, that it is incompatible with the LiveMeeting 2005 service, which is kinda rough, but it's not super surprising. You can't have 2 scheduling plugins at the same time. Oh well.

    Regards,

    Matt

  • I have installed this plugin (after removing any other plugins that i had installed) and still no luck.  i did not have any issues when i had outlook 2003 installed.

  • Which issue are you still having? Do you not see the menu option for "conferencing" as well as  the "schedule a livemeeting" and "Schedule a conference call" icons?

The plugin listed above definitely works for outlook 2007 and places the controls in OL. I've deployed it to several clients. Have you tried installing the plugin on a different machine?

When you've installed it and re-run outlook it will tell you that the add-in has been installed successfully and to close & re-open outlook. Do you see that message?

    Regards,

    Matt

  • OK, gotchya. My suggestion is to try the LM client http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/F/7/4F712B94-C6A5-4A66-AD8F-53E04085B939/LMSetup.exe and LM plugin http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA102368901033.aspx install on a different machine that is running outlook 2007. Make sure that you are a local administrator, too.

If you aren't even getting the plugin installed successfully message, that's a good reason to try a different machine.

Any errors in the application viewer?

    Regards,

    Matt

  • i have had a few users that have outlook 2007 try and they are having the same issue.  when I had outlook 2003 before, everything was fine, i got the message that you are talking about, and the icons / menu options showed up.  it just isnt working with outlook 2007 for some reason.  this is on at least 3 machines now.  i did not see any errors in the event log.  it appears to install correctly, just the menu / buttons dont show in outlook.

  • Any update on this issue?

Before I discovered your thread, I had just posted a new thread with this same issue in this same forum at:  http://forums.microsoft.com/unifiedcommunications/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3193850&SiteID=57&mode=1

  • Finally discovered a "fix" that Enabled our user's Live Meeting Add-In so that her "Schedule a Live Meeting" button reappeared in Outlook 2007.

For details, please see this post:  http://forums.microsoft.com/unifiedcommunications/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3193850&SiteID=57

  • We also found that if you have the Exchange Admin tools installed on your computer this conflicts with the Outlook Conf plug in.

You need to close Outlook (make sure Outlook.exe isn't running also) and close communicator and pull up a command line and type "fixmapi" (no quotes). Then open Outlook and communicator and the Plugin should be working...

  • Great! Finally the "fixmapi" command saved me from re-install decision.
