Hard drive errors ,overheating,shares missing,remote connect dropping HP Mediasmart servers RRS feed

    In the past week we have had 3 HP EX470 mediasmart servers fail including our office server.They were constantly getting hard drive failed and would freeze up on repair or they said they were not added.Ours says there is little data being stored and the shared music folder does not appear in WHS control panel but it still shows on the network with over 100gb of music . The Video folder which had around the same amount has disappeared altogether. A week ago it said it was overheating the message disappeared after a few minutes. We restarted and it said there was a drive that had not been added did a restart got the same message we added it and now the backups do not work and the Icon shows we are not connected to the server.Once the drive was readded it kicked another one off which could not be readded we tried again today and it readded but again lost all the data. we also got a strange message when logging onto the console (built in share music not found) yet folder is viewable and Itunes server is fine.

    The remote access is not working at all now even though it was fine for six months.

    So on ours its shows not connected on the workstations ,it is not backing up and have lost all old backups ,the video files and folder is missing the music folders shows up in explorer but not as a folder on the server.

    2.New machine at clients drops the network intermittently during the day they are using for file server and are working with large graphic files and again they constantly get a drive needs to be repaired (one of two it came with from HP)which then freezes at 5%.

    If an external drive is plugged in it freezes the whole server.

    3.New machine which drops the remote access connection intermittently and router and Mediasmart server need to be restarted each time.

    All routers are UPNP compatible .

     

    We have had no problems with this device for months now all our customers are having multiple issues any advice is appreciated as HP offers little or no support.
