One of the 100 bugs in Microsoft Developer forums since 16 august RRS feed

  • Question

  • I get often the strangest kind of bugs in the new 16 august forums and was stopped to report them because of its quantity. But since those 4 months still nothing is done I'm afraid that the so called nephew from 14 mentioned to be responsible for the current forums format is back to school and we have to wait at least until christmas when he has again holidays. Therefore I state this one here because then he can do also this one at that time.

    The Bug:

At the strangest moment the size of the format goes to a good readable format for 14 years old people, but for older ones almost impossible to read without magnifier.

I have no idea how this could be possible with the current (or any previous) editor, so I have to assume you cut & paste text from other software. Is it so?

With the current state of the forums, cutting and pasting from different sources may or may not retain the styling, which can lead to unexpected results in the forum post. (Another reason to not allow custom styling.. I've probably mentioned this before.) I suggest just to use the forum editor.

I write most of my posts with the Insert HTML feature to be sure that there is no extra markup messing up my post. It's less than optimal but it works.. most of the time. Because of different "brading", posts that look ok on one brand may look cluttered on another.

  • Cutting and pasting is not supported. You can cut and paste in the HTML editor though. Supporting cut and paste would be a good feature request you can ask for if you want.

    Thanks!
