Best way to install WHS? I am building a WHS from scratch. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am building a new WHS. I have purchased 2 1TB Wester Digital drives. I am wondering what the best way to install WHS is. Should I buy a separate Hard Drive that is dedicated for WHS or should I just partition off some of one of the 1TB drives?

  • When you install it, Windows Home Server will take care of partitioning your drives for you. This is a process you have no real control over; your system drive will have a 20 GB system partition and a second partition that occupies the rest of the drive, and any other drives will have a single partition.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
