New configuration for WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am considering installing WHS for my 3 computer system  But I am not wild about acquiring a new computer.  My thoughts are to install a new terabyte disk on one computer that is currently running 2 Sata drives, copiing everything on the current drive c  onto the new drive and then installing the Server software onto drive c.  Then reinsatlling all of the current data and programs back onto the current drive c leaving the new drive for server duty.    This system currently is running Vista Ultimate while the other two machines are running XP pro.    When finished I invision that the "server" machine can also function as a normal machine on the network during the day.
Does this sound reasonable?  Or am I not understanding something that I should before I begin.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • WHS is not intended to be a desktop OS but there are people that use it that way even though it's not supported. Also you'd need to disconnect any drive you don't want formatted during the WHS install.
