  • I have the same problem.  Windows LIve and messenger DID work now I log in and and get that error and it shuts me down. WINDOWS LIVE COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE. the operating system version and computer hardware in use; your digital product id, which could be used to id your license and the IP address of your computer. Under "details" says MOND name kernel32.dll.  The funny thing is, if I don't achnowledge the error box, I can use the product.

I have tried to re-d/l and install but it wont let me as it already see's the program

  • Hello, jillgadget.
I've split your post from the thread you posted to as it is not a problem with Windows Live OneCare, but a Windows Live Messenger issue.
You can post to this newsgroup for help with Messenger:
    http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.live.messenger&cat=en_us_0f43cf19-5af1-4912-9a55-f5ff1f9fd904&lang=en&cr=us

You can also contact Messenger support or check Help topics:

Go to http://support.live.com and sign in with a LiveID

Click on the Windows Live service or product you need help with.

If you are not presented with an email support form, but are instead redirected to help.live.com for that service/product, in the page that opens from http://help.live.com select any topic on the left hand side or search for a question in the search box.

The results of your search or the clicked topic appears in the right hand frame, along with a tiny link in the lower right hand corner – “Get more help.”

Click that tiny link and you will get to a page with a link “Contact support”

Click that link and you will be presented with the email support form to fill out. Provide as much detail as possible and you should get a response from support within 24 hours.
