Opening an old MS Visual Web .sln file in ms sql server management studio 2016 express RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an old .sln file that was created back in 2014.

I want to open it in ms sql server 2016 management studio express version.

Or figure out a way to make a .bak file from the .sln file and restore it.

    Thanks

  • Hello Mark,

a .sln file is a solution file for Visual Studio, not for SSMS. Is there a database file (.mdf) within the VS project?

  • Please avoid double posts.

You can get VS 2015 Web Edition Express to edit the project here: https://www.visualstudio.com/vs/visual-studio-express/
