Constant Red shield RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok

I ordered DSL last night from Qwest. I have a year old Presario with Vista. It had Norton and Windows Defender on but I needed to renew the subscriptionton from Symantec. When I got my DSL I was offered a free subsription to Windows Live One Care for a year.  I downloaded it, got rid of Norton, and now the one care Displays a red shield at all time and says Urgent, go to help, One care may not be protecting this P.C. But I registered it last night after I downloaded it.

    I don't get it.

    Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Normally when onecare reports a problem it shows the nature of the issue. Right click the onecare icon on the taskbar and select open windows live onecare, at the top of the page should be the message that describes the issue. If its saying go to help then click on the link in the message which will take you to help and it should describe what the problem is.

Get in touch with support for Symsntec and ask for the clean up tool. then uninstall OneCare run the clean up tool and reinstall OneCare.

If there is no information in OneCare as to the nature of the problem and it reports that you are at risk and refers you to Help, then you may want to contact support.
