I don’t want to be forwarded to the result of my mother Land! How to become an English native? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am a German citizen and I understand English very well.

If I click on English Microsoft Pages on a Link I will be forwarded  to German Sites and Forums  (If one exist).
If I do a search in a English Forum I get only German results which are in Natur = 0 results.
If I click the Button to receive English results the results are even empty or I get results from the whole TechNet Forums not only from the requested Sub Forum.

Even to Post this I have to patch the URL from \de-de\ to \en-us\ (this is bothersome!)

Most knowledge is provided in English language.
The behavior described above prevents me to be effective!

Therefor I want to be treated as an English Native!

  • Peter,

it doesn`t have to to anything with your problem. He/she is just a spammer. Because of that i reported it as abusive.

To your problem: I don`t know if this works but you can try to go to: https://account.live.com/summarypage.aspx which will be your live id summary page. At the bottom you have Other options and there click on Windows Live options. Then at Display click on Language and select english.

  • Thank you for this workarround !
I dont have such selection Box, do you have the Multi Language Version (MUI) of Win 7 ?

But ... an english Windows for a German Native is overkill! ;-))
