Is exam 70-649 still valid for MCSA 2008 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I realise exam 70-649 (upgrade exam from 2003 - 2008) is retiring in a couple of months but, in the meantime, is it still equivalent to taking the 3 separate 640, 642 & 643 exams ?

The reason I ask is that I believe the W2008 certifications have changed (no MCSE/MCITP any more ?) so I just want to ensure that, if I manage to take the 649 exam before it retires, that it won't be a waste of time.

    Thanks

    John

  • Hi,

The MCITP certifcation will retire but after 31 July you will still get MCSA 2008 for passing exam 640, 642 and 643. Upgrade exam 70-649 will also retire on 31 July so if you want to upgrade then you should do this soon.

From MCSA 2008 you can upgrade to MCSA 2012 with exam 70-417
