  • You can reactivate your Windows Vista installation by performing the following:

    1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in:  slui.exe 4

    2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

    3. Select your Country.

    4. Follow the instructions for phone activation (no charge).

  • Before you can follow Carey's steps above, you will need to change the Product Key that Windows is using to the key listed on the sticker located on the PC (or inside the laptop battery compartment).

To do this, click the Start button and type: slui.exe 3 and follow the directions.

Once you are done changing the Product key, then you can follow Carey's steps to Activate the new key.

  • I have tried slui.exe 3 and 4 several times to change the product key by typing in my original key from the bottom of the laptop but it DOES NOT GIVE ME A TELEPHONE # for activation. All it does is bring up a general windows help and support window with no telephone number. This happens when I click the activate by telephone button.

BTW the 213 bios breaks the boot from usb option on the G50.

How can I fix this in an expeditious manner?

  • Q.  BTW the 213 bios breaks the boot from usb option on the G50.

    A.  Open the motherboard's BIOS and adjust the Boot drives order to your desired setting.
