Windows Live OneCare Possible Uninstall Conflict RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. I uninstalled OneCare and then put on Security Essentials. I wanted OneCare back, so I uninstalled Security Essentials and reinstalled OneCare. Before I uninstalled OneCare, it said that I had 69 days left of the trial. After I reinstalled it, it opened and said exactly this: ... 1 days left ... Please help. I just contacted OneCare support by E-mail and am awaiting their responce. Thank you in advance.

  • As of last night, there is no longer a trial period for OneCare and it can no longer be purchased. If you have a subscription already, unpon install or reinstall, you need to activate with your LiveID right away. • Ok, thanks for your help Steve.

    I apreciate it.

But, then why before I uninstalled OneCare, it said that I had 69 days left?

  • If you had the trial installed previously, the countdown had been set at install. A new install has a 1 day countdown.
