70-648 - Does this contain DNS questions or not? RRS feed

  • Question

  • This exam consists of apparently 70-640 and 642 and is an upgrade exam for existing MCSE's/MCSA's. 640 contains approx 17% DNS questions according to the official "skill measured" tab for this exam.

However 70-648 does not mention it at all, and the people I know that sat it said it does not seem to do so. Although the literature surrounding this exam has a chapter on it.

Does anyone actually officially know if 70-648 has DNS as a skill knowledge requirement? It just seems strange that their upgrade exam does not even cover DNS, which as we all know is a rather important requirement for any modern network.

  • I see DNS listed twice on the objectives for this exam.

Also this statement means they can ask things not on the objectives.

The information after “This objective may include but is not limited to” is
intended to further define or scope the objective by describing the types of
skills and topics that may be tested for the objective. However, it is not an
exhaustive list of skills and topics that could be included on the exam for a
given skill area. You may be tested on other skills and topics related to the
objective that are not explicitly listed here.

When taking a Server exam I would prepare to see DNS questions as it is a big part of Active Directory and day-to-day functions of a Server Admin.
