  • Looking at your log, it appears that you have IE7 installed, but you have not turned on the Phishing filter. You also need to enable Automatic Updates to download and install automatically, or at a scheduled time.

You can do both of these from the actions to take link in OneCare or you can open IE and turn on the phishing filter there - Tools/Phishing Filter/Turn on

Automatic updates can be configured in Control Panel/Automatic Updates.

I don't know why it doesn't see that you are using IE7, unless it is an older version and needs to be patched with critical security updates. Go to Windows Update and download and install *all* critical update offered.

  • I think you need to reach out to support.

How to reach support (FAQ) - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2

The instructions on how to resolve the error you encounter for Windows Update can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316524

However, with the additional problems you are also dealing with, I think it may be worth working with support to identify if there is an underlying problem with Windows on your system or some conflicting software.
