  • If One Care is listed in add/remove programs uninstall it from there. Run the install cleanup tool - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/399071e2-49dc-4767-932d-d261e3965943 then install One Care from here - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/install/install.htm To activate, open One Care, select "Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Lve ID and password associated with your subscription and One Care will activate. If installation fails again please contact support. How to reach support - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/30400b52-7f26-4ba0-bc18-17e305329d90

  • Try using a shorter password perhaps 8-10 characters.

  • do you think that maybe the copy of windows onecare is not made 4 installing on a cpu.it says it 4 a oem system builder pack (intended for system builders only )

  • I don't think that would be the issue. OEM or "system builder" software is only different in pricing, the software itself is the same. Additionally there aren't any bits on the CD. The CD just launches a browser and connects to a One Care download server. You really should contact support.

  • Then maybe there is a difference. Try installing the trial - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/install/install.htm then use the product key to activate. If this fails you should  contact support.
