Centering text in WLW 2011 using Wordpress.com theme Manifest

  So, at the suggestion of a friend, I downloaded WLW2011 this morning and, out of the box, it looks like fun.  So I hook it up with my WP.com account and download the theme and all seems peachy.  Only now, I can't get any text to center align.  I click on the "center text" button in the paragraph tab, and get nothing.  If I try to add numbers or bullets by clicking those buttons, then the text centers.  But, I don't want bullets or numbers.  I just want the text centered.  In preview, still no centering of text. 

   

  What gives?
