Win 7 Ultimate previously validated receiving non genuine messages RRS feed

  • Question

  • My Toshiba laptop originally had Vista Ultimate installed. It came with a Win 7 Ult upgrade disc which I successfully installed and validated. After 3 months I received the Non Genuine messages. I contacted the seller who gave me a new key to use. Windows again validated and all went well for 7 months until a couple of days ago the nonGenuine messages started again. Earlier that week I used CC cleaners Registry cleaner... It may have caused the issue. There was no other possible cause that I can think of.  Win 7 is so good. Can you suggest how I may be able to validate my system again?

Any help would be much appreciated

  • The key being used is a blocked MSDN key. These keys are not for resale, intended for developers and IT's however many have been sold in violation of the subscription agreement with MS. Please review the following sticky

    http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/genuinewindows7/thread/a2444f34-0aff-4f29-a8ac-67e28b0c0285

Unfortunatly the time frame that you fall under is well past the typical 45 day period that you normaly have to file a claim. Sorry to tell you this.

Also, the seller appears to have installed an activation exploit that is emulating an SLP bios marker, even though windows is not using SLP activation. It is highly likley that the exploit will eventually be flagged also and will cause a non-genuine status even if you install a new, valid key. I suggest a clean installation of whatever valid OS you decide to use.

    Thanks

    Carl
