Blue screen when backing up wirelessly, fine when wired RRS feed

  • Question

  • My 64-bit Vista Home Premium notebook can't back up wirelessly anymore. At around 80%, an IRQ-related stop error is thrown. No new hardware has been added recently, and the only driver update I've made is for the Nvidia GPU.

Backing up with a wired connection works just fine.

I have not run chkdsk b/c this doesn't look like a problem with the hard drive, since wired works and wireless does not. Do you have any suggestions?

  • Try chkdsk anyway. If the wireless driver is corrupted because of a disk issue, you could see the issue you describe.

Also, can you give more detail about the bluescreen?

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • I'll give chkdsk a shot then. Also, I will need to recreate the blue screen to get more details. I'll post them here shortly.
