  If you are using SQL 2008 enterprise in the back end and turn on auditing.

  I understood the point about having to turn on auditing.  I was wondering why you mentioned that it had to be 2008 enterprise?  Could you elaborate?

  However, the audit logs are stored in partitions quarterly.
