WGA Issues RRS feed

  • Everytime I try to run updates on my computer I get the following error:


    You do not have permission to update Windows XP.  Please contact your system administrator.  When I click OK, I get the next message that reads:


    Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)

  • Hi Tricia G,


      Please go to http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag and click the “Start Diagnostic" button. The next screen will check a number of setting on your computer needed for the validation process to be successful, If any of the settings are detected as incorrect, click the "Resolve Now" button and the site will either resolve the issue for you or you will be provided with step by step instructions on how to resolve the issue yourself. Once done, re-try the check and if all passes, then click the “Validate Windows” button. Once done, go to http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate, you should be able to download any updates available.
