Asked by:
Customize Price Calculation Methods

Question
-
Hi All,
I am willing to add Price List Matrix feature to CRM; so i had created some entities and custom grid to add/update prices in matrix.
Now i need to inject CRM's price calculation system and customize them to get price's from matrix.
But i couldn't a way to start. Do you have any suggestion?

Why can't you use the price list functionality that already exists?

Because i need matrix based price lists. I don't wanna define 10 different products for same base products to differentiate price by some features.
I had developed price matrix and now i need to override price calculate and recalculate methods.

I agree the product catalog is a little cumbersome to set up, but once it is you can leverage a strong out of the box product pricing solution.
That said, I've had occasion many times to have to ditch the OOB product engine in favor of a custom solution to wrap the software design around the business requirements. You don't have to use it - but it has many capabilities.
I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful. Michael Mayo

Thanks for your answer but i don't think so.
Sometimes i couldn't believe how simple product catalog can Dynamics CRM have.
There is no product configurator, there is no matrix based price list, service based products are note supported actually, etc.
