VS2015 - How to import web form from an older project RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an asp.net project that was originally created 10+ years ago. Over time it has been upgraded to a newer Visual Studio as they get deployed into our development environment. We're currently on VS2015.

We now have a new project created with Visual Studio 2015 and want to import some of the web forms from the older project.  The problem we're having is that by merely copying the MyWebForm.aspx and MyWebForm.aspx.cs (there is no MyWebForm.designer.cs) from the older project into the newer one, all of the controls on the page are undefined.  The older project doesn't have a MyWebForm.aspx.designer.cs file.  When we "go to definition" of a control in the older project a popup says, "the definition of the object is hidden."

So, how does one import a web form from an older project into a newer one created with VS2015?

    Thanks!

    Curt
