What's Going On With WHS2011?

Question

Hi!
I've been using WHS 2011 to back up my computers for several years without any problems. In the last 2 - 3 months, backups that were once routine have been failing and the reasons are crazy. Take the following: How can the backup show 61% complete and then fail with an error saying that the backup NEVER started? HELP!!

Hi Ric,
Before going further, would you please let confirm whether the backup-failed issue just occur on this Windows 7 Pro client computer? Or occurred on all client computer?
Please run chkdsk /f /r to fix any errors on the hard disk (/f) and recover readable information from any bad sectors (/r). Please run vssadmin in a command prompt to troubleshoot Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) issues. For more details, please refer to following article and troubleshoot computer backup issue.
Troubleshooting Computer Backup and Restore Errors
In addition, would you please let me confirm whether install Hotfix 2781272 on the WHS 2011? If installed, please also install KB2934953 and monitor the result.
If this issue still exists, please check Event log if find relevant events. Meanwhile, please follow the path: %programdata%\microsoft\windows server\logs and check relevant backup log file if find more clues.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
Hope this helps.

Hi! Justin,
Problem only occurs on this one Win7 Pro computer.
Chkdsk /f /r was run on all drives/partitions (Disk 0 2TB Labeled drive E:\; Disk 1 1TB with 3 partitions - 100MB (No label), 60GB Labeled drive C:\, 871GB Labeled drive D:\). No problems found.
vssadmin list providers showed only system.
Hot fix and KB installed.
Found the following entries in Event Viewer, but don't know if they are relevant:

______When asking for client authentication, this server sends a list of trusted certificate authorities to the client. The client uses this list to choose a client certificate that is trusted by the server. Currently, this server trusts so many certificate authorities that the list has grown too long. This list has thus been truncated. The administrator of this machine should review the certificate authorities trusted for client authentication and remove those that do not really need to be trusted.

I checked the following path (%programdata%\microsoft\windows server\logs) but did not see any relevant info/errors. That said, I really did not know what I was looking for.
Thanks for your reply. I hope the information above helps. Let me know what else I can do to get to the bottom of this problem.
