  • Question

  • Hi, I am preparing for the exam 70-480 Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3. I have just read a book Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 Training Guide by Glenn Johnson. There was a chapter in there about WebSQL. I have gone through quite a few sample questions on this exam and I have found no mention of this particular subject. Is this part of the exam or can I skip it? Also there was some stuff in the book about FileSystem API but again I don't recall seeing this in the sample questions. I have read that it is no longer supported in IE and is only supported by Chrome.

Can anyone clarify these two issues for me?Thank you.

  • The place to go to find out what is covered by the exam is the "Skills Measured" section in the exam description page:

You will find that WebSQL is not required at all. On the other hand, the Storage API is required. I don't know what is covered in your book under "FileSystem API", but if it covers the localStorage class and its methods, then you do need it for the exam.

  • Thanks. Yes I thought WebSQL is not required. I think the FileSystem API is a different topic to Storage API as I know Storage API has to be covered.
