If OP unmarks an answer, there should be an automatic un-propose RRS feed

  • Question

  • Situation:

    OP post.

    Reply from X.

The reply is proposed as answer by Y.
The reply is marked as an answer by the Moderator.
The reply is unmarked as an answer by the OP.

In this situation the OP has clearly said that he doesn't regard X's post as an answer, yet the post is still marked as Proposed as Answer.

This means that the Moderator on his/her next sweep of Proposed posts sees it again only to discover that he's already marked it and the OP has already said that it isn't the answer. Waste of the Moderator's time in other words.

In such a situation there ought to be an automatic removal of the propose as answer,

  • So what does the Moderator do, start a "Yes it is"; No it isn't" fight with the original poster?

I *am* a Moderator and yes, I do usually think I'm right when I upgrade a proposed post to become an answer, but it is the OP's thread and it is his/her decision if a post is an answer or not.

Besides the question is that the fact that a *Propose as Answer* is still left there unnecessarily. Even if there is an automatic removal of this a Moderator who thinks as you do could still once again mark the post as an answer.
