We have a requirement of Hiding the Unused Entities from the showing up in the Advanced find in CRM 2011. Is there any way we could achieve this.

Answers

  • Yes

Best way to achive this is apply security settings

if you remove the read/view permission of unused entity from all roles in CRM security, then thoes entity will not availble.

Just keep all permission for System Admin role

  • Hi,

It is not possible to remove the entities from Advance Find view unless you remove the Entity Read permissions from the Users Security roles. On removing the entity read permissions the system would automatically remove the entity from the Advance Find entities list.

  • hi Srinivas ..

    Adding to the above notes

Advanced find not a container by its self .

there isnt any support way to do this ...as suggested earlier

the ONLY way to restrict for Certain User is Create  a NEW ROLE .

and in the remove the access right to those Entity which you dont whant to see them

And the Assign This new role to those Restrict user.

we removed read permission for the specific role for the  below entities. Does it gives problem while calling plugins? Here we dont want to show these entities in Advance Find.

    -          Plug-in Assemblies

    -          Plug-in Types

    -          Plug-in Type Statistics

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

By default the plugin executes with the System (hidden account) context and this should not generate any error, in case of any error try updating the plugin step Run as User field to Administrator user.
