I am attempting to restore about 6 months of Outlook files that I had backed up with OneCare just prior to Christmas.
After inserting my backup disc, I followed the 'Restore Backup' menu on my computer that copies thwe files to my hard drive. And then, as instructed: Open Outlook>File Menu>ImportExport>import pst files, locate the saved file, click on it and get "You do not have permission to access this file".
I am completely buffaloed! The files I am attempting to restore were actually on the same computer prior to Christmas, but in the meantime since performing the backup, I have had to reconfigure my HP back to its original, out-of-box config as when it was new. OneCare does not recognize my computer as the same computer when the backup was performed, consequently, the error message above. How do I overcome this problem? I need desperately to restore these files! Thanks in advance!
