Question

I've been trying to post a question at the http://answers.microsoft.com/ forums but the links for posting do not work! Hoping someone here can help as this is for Forum Issues. When I first went to answers.microsoft.com even the link for signing in would not work. Bur after I signed in here I was somehow automatically sigend in there as well. However I still cannot post a question or even reply to another post.

Choosing the "ask a question" radio button, does not give me an "Ask" button. The graphic remains as "Search".
Try it in No Add-ons mode? Alternatively try asking your question without the quotes. FWIW with the quotes I instantly get a composition frame and a Submit button, so it is not just the Search/Ask button that you are missing in your example image.---

Hi
Thanks for your post.
I can't repro your question, when I go to http://answers.microsoft.com/, choose the "ask a question" radio button, type the question tittle in the textbox, then click "ask" , the page will be allowed to ask a question.
Hope this would be helpful to you.

Thanks for your reply but, I'm still having issues.
OK. Firstly, when I go to http://answers.microsoft.com/, I cannot sign in. The sign in link does nothing when I click on it. When I come back here and sign in, again I am automagically signed in there as well. I do realize that one signin gets me to various places at Microsoft but, that link should work. Choosing the "ask a question" radio button, does not give me an "Ask" button. The graphic remains as "Search". I type the question title in the textbox, but I can only "Search". When I open one of the search results, I cannot post a reply, nor can I start a new thread by clicking the "Post a Question" button. Those links do absolutely nothing, just like the signin link at the top. My perferred browser is Internet Explorer but have also tried with Fierfox with the same results.

No Add-ons mode! Why didn't I think of that? Tried it your way and it made absolutely no difference! Then I realized that there was one add-on which was not disabled. I had installed Adguard a couple of weeks ago as there seems to be more and more sites that are circumventing the builtin popup guard in IE. Choosing "View Source" at http://answers.microsoft.com/ revealed that Adguard actually injects a whole mess of gobbledegook into the HTML code of the webpage. Disabling Adguard solved the problem. And BTW the browser is a lot faster now too. Adguard was definately slowing it down.
Thanks for your help Robert, here's hoping Microsft can beef up the Popup Blocker in IE.
