Project Site Members group RRS feed

  • Question

  • After creating a project site, groups called <project site> Members, <project site> Owners, and <project site> Visitors can be created.  I was assuming that when an enterprise resource is added to the project, that person would be added to the <project site> Members group automatically after publishing the project.  That didn't happen.  Next I assumed maybe after assigning that enterprise resource to a task, that person would be added to the <project site> Members group automatically after publishing the project.  That didn't happen either.

Am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work, or is something not working properly in my Project Server 2007 system?  Thanks.

  • Hi there,

Do you have the option checked to automatically synchronize Project Web App users with Project Sites when they are created on the Server settings >  Project Site Provisioning Settings page? Do you the following permission levels on the Project sites:

    Web Administrators (Microsoft Project Server)
    Project Managers (Microsoft Project Server)
    Readers (Microsoft Project Server)

Users are added to these permissions levels when automatically synching the users (enable the check box mentioned above), see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg982961.aspx#section4 Link for 2010 but options the same in 2007 - this has not changed.

    Thanks

    Paul
