Outlook Configuration Wizard error

when i run the outlook configuration wizard in outlook it comes back with the error The remote name could not be resolved
this is on the the external machines. all the internal ones are fine
i am able to access CRM through the browser from the outside the lan. the IFD tool resloves the dns fine

Hi Ashley,
Your setup for external users may need to be slightly different that the setup for internal users. Have a look at these posts and see if they help. You need to ensure you are selecting the correct options for your particular scenario and supplying the correct URL's.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Outlook Client it's using also some additional ports. Check on which ports computer is trying to establish connection and open it on your CRM server firewall.
I suggest to use Microsoft Sysinternals tools to do it.

If you are trying to connect/configure Outlook from outside the LAN, create a VPN, otherwise you are not authenticated.
