I am running Windows 7 - native installation Win 7 Home upgraded by me to Windows 7 Professional SP1. I am running IE 11. My old issue is that I cannot turn on network discovery. I have spent well over 100 hours on this issue
and have done all of the google and windows searchable help fixes. None of them work. I am down to where I now need to fix my system registry but cannot find clear instructions for this. Now I have a second issue.
Last week I started up in safe mode to test out whether this was truly a registry issue or something else. upon restarting NOT in safe mode, my screen display looks like a hybrid between safe and regular mode. Many drop downs do not appear
- Boxes that need to be filled in for searches or filling out forms are not on the screen. I have double checked my tools, options, advanced settings with those on my other machine also running win7 and not having a problem. the
advanced settings are identical. I spent quite a bit of time on chat with a help person but it came down to paying $95 which I think I exorbitant. I simply need instructions on what areas of the registry need repaired
as well as how to trouble shoot this display issue.
