  • Hello,

I have downloaded live mesh onto 3 devices.  A home PC, a work PC and my WM6 smartphone.  I am trying to sync an excel file across all 3 devices (a list of books i've read while traveling).  I would like the same file replicated in the primary local live mesh folder on each device.

I cannot get the file to synch across any of the machines.

I have followed the directions in the live mesh help, including opening up the notifier and then selecting sync for each remote folder.

It creates a duplicate of the remote folders when I do the initial synch.  However, if I then copy the file to the home pc, it shows up under the home pc remote folder on the work pc, and the home pc folder on the smartphone, but it does not show up in the primary local live mesh folder on either the work PC or Smartphone.

Is there a way to have only 1 live mesh folder on each device and to get the file to sync up in that folder on each device?

I think I'm missing something???  Thanks in advance!

  • If you want to have one folder that is synced across these devices, the easiest way would be:
    1. Create the folder on one device
    2. Right click the folder and "add to mesh"
This will create shortcuts on the other devices' desktops
    3. On the other devices, double click that desktop shortcut, and adjust the folder path if you don't want to have the synced folder on your desktop but elsewhere.
    That's it.
You can even select an existing folder in step 3 and Live Mesh will offer you to merge the folders.

There's a limitation in the Windows Mobile version of the Mesh client, as it can only create the Mesh folder under your Documents folder on the smartphone (if I recall correctly). For issues with the WM version please vists the Live Mesh for Mobile forum at http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/LiveMeshMobile/threads/
