Onecare Startup problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have one computer with Windows Home Vista.  Upon startup, OneCare tries to startup but dies.  After the machine has started up, I can manually start OneCare and everything is fine.  I have tried reinstall numerous times.

  • Some people have reported success in resolving this problem bu going to services, (Vista search box - services.msc - right click, run as administrator) and selecting Terminal Services and setting the Startup to Automatic (Delayed Start).

This option is not available in XP.

You should see an improvement in startup after the next update to OneCare, due at the end of January, beginning of February. The reason for the problem is that OneCare is trying to start before the system is ready for it to start, and there are not enough available resources for all of the startup programs and services that want priority.
