About author affiliation information RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have noticed that, there are quite a number of error in authors' affiliation information, including a) missing affiliation information (about 45% for authors appear after year 2000, and this ratio is increasing with time) b) error affiliation information. Case b) can be caused by several reasons, e.g originally wrongly assigned, or an author has changed his/her job to a new company or university.  Would you please describe how you assign affiliation to an author? and how you update this information?

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

The content in Microsoft Academic Search is based on tens of millions of articles thus far indexed from scholarly publishers. As more content is indexed, accuracy and completeness will continue to improve. The indexed articles are grouped by author profiles, which are created algorithmically. We recognize some errors can occur. It is possible for users to submit changes to an author profile to correct information such as the author's organization affiliation. You can find instructions in our help documentation.

    Best regards,
