Microsoft Onecare backup file names? RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I have 200GB hard drive on my PC and my backup drive which is external USB type has 282GB of onecare backup files. I think there are duplicates. If you select comple backup, it creates a totally new file. Is that true.

I have 3 folders in my backup. Each containing Catalogue and files as folders.

    2008 has 1854 files 94.18GB
    2008A has 1945 files 91.5GB
    2008B has 1914 files 90.2GB

How do I know which one to delete?

    Thanks.

  • If you reinstalled OneCare twice, 2008 and 2008A are defunct and OneCare is currently backing up to 2008B.

Note that you are referring to folder names, not files. The files within the folders are hidden and protected. They will be zip files. You will want to see this post for how to delete the backups. You can also, before deleting, but after taking "ownership" of the folders and fiels within, view the details for the file dates for your last backup.
