Hello, I'm new here. This is my brief intro. I'm looking forward to learning about my device and contributing to the forum.
Phone: T-Mobile Shadow/HTC/Win Mobile6
Situation
Location: Settings/Slide and Key Lock/Answer Mode
These are the two available settings: "Open Keyboard to Answer" or "Any Key to Answer"
Logically I would expect that the "Any Key to Answer" setting would allow you to answer a call by pressing any of the keys on the device. Conversly, I would expect that the "Open Keyboard to Answer" setting would only answer a call when you open the slider. While the previous does as expected, the latter does not. When the phone is set to "Open Keyboard to Answer", calls are also answered by pressing the talk button while the slider is closed. It behaves the same way whether the phone is locked or not. This is a problem because if the phone is in my pocket and locked, and I recieve a call, it may be answered accidentally.
Proposed Solution
There should be three settings here:
"Any Key Answer" "Open Slider to Answer" "Any Key/Open Slider"
The first setting will do exactly as you would expect it to do. The second setting will only answer the phone when you open the slider. Under the second setting, in the event that the slider is already open when a call is received, the call can only be answered by pressing the talk button. Then the third setting will do just what you think, the call will be answered by pressing any key or by opening the slider,
I've never written code to modify a Microsoft operating system, so I'm not sure if it is even possible. Can anyone tell me, is it possible create an update to implement this feature? And if so, who would have the ability to do it?
Now that I think about it, there are a couple of other necessary settings. Such as "Talk Key" and "Talk Key Only When Slider is Open." The former will answer only when the talk key is pressed. The latter will answer only when the talk key is pressed while the slider is open which would be my prefered method of answer as it eliminates possible accidental answers.
One more setting should be in a seperate category; Lock and Answer Mode. And the available settings would be "Unlock to Answer", "Auto Unlock on Answer" and "Slider Unlock." The first one would require you to unlock the device to answer a call. The second one would unlock the device automatically when you answer a call by your specified method. The third one, and my personal favorite, would unlock the device only by opening the slider.
