Should read postings be indicated as such?

Question
-
I just started looking at this forum; seems pretty useful. However, when I click on a posting, and then come back to the main post listing page, I don't see any indication of having looked at it. Should there be? I looked at the FAQ but didn't see anything.
One response was: "Somewhat subtle but the subject is no longer bold"
That's what i would have expected, or maybe going to a different color. But, I see no change in the formatting of the subject line. It looks as bold as other postings I did not click on. Is it a browser setting? I'm using IE6. Even looking at the html with View -> Source, about the only difference I see between the subject and the "xxx minutes ago" text is that the subject is formatted with <h3>, although I won't claim to be any kind of html expert. I don't see any bold (<b>) markers at all. Any other thoughts?

I've been logged in, so that doesn't seem to explain it either. No big deal, I was just surprised since every other forum I've ever looked at somehow indicated read postings. Thanks for investigating.

If you can't see the difference it might be that you are in an MSDN forum. There in some browsers the difference is minute after their recent "improvement" in the look of their forums. To see a clear difference go to a forum in the TechNet set.(I'm lucky as the forums I use are in both sets)

Well, I think I am in a TechNet set. Here's the link. Am I? Thanks.

Yes, you are in TechNet ... So much for that theory. For me (and I use lots of different browsers and use PC and Mac systems) there is a clear difference when in TechNet between a bold (unread) thread and a non-bold (read) thread. The only other thing is that all threads are bold if you aren't logged in.
