Kinect red light

  A couple of years ago I bought a Kinect for my Xbox 360, now all of a sudden it's little light has gone red and it will no longer work, every time I try to use it or calibrate it it says it has insufficient power.

  So, I looked on the Microsoft forums and downloaded and burnt the Microsoft update to a disk and put it into my Xbox 360 as instructed, then I restarted my Xbox 360 and it said it's software was already up to date.

  I then bought a new kinect and plugged that in, and it immediately installs an update! Then the new Kinect works fine, so I plugging in my old Kinect and it still has the same problem, even when switching power supplies between the two Kinects!

  So... What is going on Microsoft!
