Japanese characters RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey everyone.

I've got a problem with Live Mesh when using Japanese file names.
It accepts the characters and syncs across my computers just fine, but a funny thing happens in Vista after it is synced.
For those of you that understand, it is changing the character [プ] (read "pu"; a single two-byte Japanese glyph) into [プ] (read the same "pu", but the MARU is separated from the FU glyph and can be deleted separately). Consequently, this causes problems when I try to attach them to emails.

I am able to change the file name back after it's updated in the Mesh folder, but it's a pain to have to rename the file every time.
I am positive that the file name is using the single character on the desktop and changes only when it's moved into a Mesh folder and the folder uploads the file.

Is this a known bug? Will there ever be a fix for it?
