Forum Maintenance and moderation

Question
-
It's been a week since Darin Smith departed from the WGA Forums, and in that time as far as I can tell there has been no Moderator presence (apart from the visit lists) in the WGA forums.
There are only two Answerers there - myself and Carey Frisch. Therefore necessary maintenance is backing up.
Are these forums being allowed to wither on the vine, or what?

Who from the community should be the moderators, and why?
What about for moderators to be added...
You - http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/profile/noel%20d%20paton
Carey - http://social.microsoft.com/profile/carey%20frisch
For Answerers to be added...

I'd rather not comment about others in public :) ( I did email you a few days before I posted this thread)
As for myself - I'd be happy to moderate the WGA forums, given that I've supplied around 50%+ of the answers there for the past year or so :)
I believe I can bring a necessary even-handedness to moderation (which isn't often required in those forums, they aren't exactly hotbeds of strife as a rule!), and have the skills to judge when a response is good and when it isn't, whichever way it's been marked.
Since there would ideally have to be two moderators, I'll state a bald preference without explanation - George1009
If you'd like to email me - either track me through my website, or use ngsATcrashfixpcDOTcoDOTuk (throwaway account) in the first instance.

Hi Ed -
I would be more than happy to moderate the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Forums. I currently moderate the following subsets:
- Genuine Advantage Offers - Eligibility Issues Forum
- Genuine Benefits
- Feedback and Comments
I need to be added as a moderator to:
- Windows 7 Genuine Advantage Validation Issues
- Windows Vista Validation Issues
- Windows XP Genuine Advantage Validation Issues
Also, I am currently an experienced and diligent moderator of the Windows 7 IT Pro, Windows Vista IT Pro, and Windows XP IT Pro Forums in the Windows Client Forums. I have undergone several Microsoft training sessions for both the TechNet and Microsoft Answers Forums and understand the requirements for forum moderation and adhering to the Moderating Microsoft Forums Guide. The MGA Forum is regarded as a fairly sensitive area since it involves an underatanding of Microsoft software licensing, product keys and adherence to confidentiality. It really requires just one outside moderator.
Thank you for your consideration!

You mean added back as moderator - after you were demoted for cause.

Hi Sly !
Do you have any better candidate for that particular or you think yourself as a better candidate then send it to Ed Price rather than discussing it here. Usually we encourage people to participate in forums and have a healthy discussion here, but since your arrival in this thread its losing the value of it.
If you have concerned over some Moderator you are always welcome to bring our attention to it, but everyone does mistakes Moderators are not always perfect they do mistakes but when identified they make corrections to it, as we all welcome criticism. Also tell us what is the percentage you think, they (do not follow rules / make wrong decisions) out of their overall activities.
You might not like this post from me, but if you think you are a better candidate than "Noel" and "Carey" than let us know why you should be Moderator of "Microsoft Genuine Advantage" Forum. Tell us your positives and your achievements here at Forums (Online) and Offline community.
You can also name someone else who you think should be better for these Forums.
Now i want to hear back from you is how many times "Noel" and "Carey" make mistakes during their activities in these Forums. Be more specific with the percentage.
Who else you think should be Moderator their. (Provide reasoning to it).
Just to mentioned one thing, i don't know "Noel" and "Carey", i just see them here in this thread. Also please avoid posting posts from other thread in here as it doesn't add any value.
Hope you would take some time before replying back and think why we all are here (obviously to help each other out and make things easier for each other not the other way around).
Thanks, Hasham Niaz

...and just who are you to judge that?
It is repellent attitudes like you just demonstrated that gave me cause to post to this thread in the first place.
So there you have it, Ed.
Hi Sly !
If you think you are contributing to this particular thread, then why don't you care to answer my question. You think just by criticizing someone else you will get the attention of Forum Moderators, you will have to put some reasoning in it.
In my reply i wanted to hear back from you on below points;
1) Now i want to hear back from you is how many times "Noel" and "Carey" make mistakes during their activities in these Forums. Be more specific with the percentage.
2) Who else you think should be Moderator their. (Provide reasoning to it).
But you never answered on these 2 points, rather you decided to put questions on my behavior here.
This particular thread is created to find a new Moderator for WGA Forums, or help identifying possible candidates. So the value of this threads relates to those posts which help the cause of creating this thread.
Thanks, Hasham Niaz

This thread? I think close to a dozen people chipped in to clean it up (including a few of the people who posted deleted their own replies). =^)
I understand Derosnec's concerns, but he can start a new thread or email me directly to discuss.
Thanks!
